free!

mid years are OVER! now, the only horrifying part is THE RESULTS. it kills you know. it's one of the reasons of suicide. basically, the emaths and amaths papers were killers. the sciences were okay. as for the humanities, geography, was VERY pissing off. i raised my hand for 5 mins!!! just for some freaking damned foolscap paper. that qns costed me 10 marks and when i only recieved it 3 mins to the end of the exam. 5 mins is alot of time! so many inviglilators for what? ALL BLIND! extra time should seriously be given. i needed another piece of paper as i knew would be writing alot. when i started on a new piece i immediately raised my hand to get another one. but did i get it? NO. i only go it like 5 mins later! seriously pissing off.
anyway, watched spiderman3 with shuyi, allicia, sihui, may and yiling. whee. really liked it. i like the actor topher grace. he's acting as eddiebrock/venom. you should see him in the show, win a date with tad hamilton! another eye candy in spiderman3 is the guy who played harry osbourn, he's changed alot since the last episode. bought my mother's day present and my sister's birthday present.

currently at home. no school today, no school tomorrow. going to the ZOO tomorrow. it's been quite some time since ive been to the zoo. the animals i most want to see is the polar bear, penguins, lions, snakes. i kinda don't like monkeys.

oh how i dislike exams. they give me TONS of stressed and i am so BARAGED down by the endless nagging by my parents. they ALWAYS repeat the same damn stuff and that's why it's called nag. in the future, parents should just record down what they want to say and just play if for us. i strongly believe that it is mostly because of nagging or repeating sentences and that's why people rebel. so darn irritating.

i'm sixteen!

yes! i'm sixteen! sweet smashing sixteen! thanks to EVERYONE who gave me their well wishes. i really am grateful for those who gave me presents. thank you thank you thank you. just to mention some really good presents:
1. a white belt : sophie. i really wanted a white belt and i got it! thanks!
2. the body shop orange pack : jeraldine. thank you. i like body shop products.
3. a bouquet of flowers : yuliang & joanne. every year they give me the same flowers but in different forms. the flowers are lovely and so are they.
4. a snake soft toy : debbie & eunice. haha. i give ppl snakes and i get one in return. how great is that?

those presents were what i wanted and i got them. i'm a happy girl today.

i have not opened a single present yet. i'm just too lazy and tired to open them. thank you everyone!

the phrase "13th april " is just simply perfect. it's not only my birthday, it's international friendship day, friday the 13th and fmssrcy enrolment/promotion ceremony. yayy! multi-events. the ceremony was quite haywire in the beginning. the preparations and rehearsal took freaking long time. when the ceremony was going to start at 5.30pm, the hall blacked out! everybody thought it was like part of the ceremony but it was not. it was a 100% pure black out. then the organising committee were like panicking cause they had no contingency plan.

in the end, the ceremony was moved to the auditorium whereby the bb boys were chased out. thanks. the lanyard was quite restricting in my movements. i couldn't lift stuff up properly. overall, i think the program went quite well. well done NCOs!

today was NAPFA test. i did better than last year. i now have all As but one D. last year was all As but one E. sigh. my broad jump improved by 10cm but because it's my birthday today, i had to take the 16 yrs category.

funnies

okay. i forgot to type in something to my previous post. anyway, the girls and i were having an early birthday celebration for me at marche. and, we took turns to help each other get food. so it was allicia's turn and the cashier asked for the marche card. but unknowingly, she gave the HOTEL ROOM CARD. boy was she embarrassed. haha. it was a really funny situation.

next. this really happened and i'm told to put the victim's name as anon. one day during english lesson, eunice tham asked anon for a pen. BUT, anon heard eunice saying: can i have a pad? so, anon moved secretly to her bag's secret compartment to retrieve a pad for eunice and gave it to her. eunice was then SO SHOCKED as to receive a pad but not a pen. then eunice clarified that she wanted a pen and not a pad and wondered why anon reached into her bag for a pad instead to the pencilbox which is on the table for a pen. anon was then embarrassed that she kept on laughing and laughing. a seriously funny situation.

fantastic!

i really love my girls! they are simply the best! thanks sihui, shuyi, yiling and allicia!

yesterday
packed my stuff hurriedly. had a super light breakfast and started my fasting at 11am. that means i can break fast at 5pm. fasting for good friday. i know felt real hungry around 3pm. went to church. 12pm-2pm. then daddy fetched me and my girls to swissotel the stamford. room 2763. my mother had booked a hotel for me as to celebrate my birthday in advance. she's so sweet. dumped our stuff in the hotel room, took pictures, lazed around and the girls bought this 108 pcs puzzle for me. SO CUTE.

left the room around 5pm. we went to vivo and that's where my surprises started. the girls had planned the whole day of events for me. they made me cover my eyes and yiling placed her hands over my eyes so i couldn't see. i know we're at the rooftop of vivocity. i know i walked some distance and i seriously felt stupid. haha. yiling then released her hands i saw that i was in front of marche. i was so happy and touched! the surprise was that they were treating me to marche! ahh. i was elated. it turned out that my church's YE was there having their dinner as well. when we got a seat, they were about to leave.

the marche at vivocity was seriously small. sigh. we had tons of food and a snapple each. not that filling for me. total: $69.15. for five of us. yummy food. then on to my next surprise. it was a river taxi ride at the singapore river. the view was just fanta-bulous. i was just soaking it in. the taxi uncle actually thought that we were from vietnam and kept telling us to take photo take photo. he was really nice.

next surprise: i was the last to shower. i went in. i came out. there was a cake and balloons which decorated the room. the girls did it. they began to sing me a birthday song again. haha. i was seriously shocked. i wasn't expecting it at all. they had bought a mrs. fields brownie cake and a let's party balloons. ate cheezels too.

the surprises ended there. during every sleepover, there's this tradition that we'll carry out and that is revealing our secrets. our deepest and darkest secrets. there were so many revelations. we were laughing away most of the time. we know now yiling's secrets. boy oh boy. aren't they shocking. we kinda knew all of shuyi's. sihui and allicia's were interesting but not as yiling's and they soon fell asleep. -_-" leaving shuyi, yiling and me to continue talking.

as for my secrets, the past has seriously caught up to me. during the in-between period, there were many fishes that swam up to me and i've caught a few. the deep impact that he left in me was deep. i've been putting him away everytime and i believed that it was gone till last night. the girls suspected something. anyway, what's past is past. i am putting it away again and going for the new fish in the sea. the girls KNOW EVERYTHING.

slept at 3.30am the next day.

today
woke up at 9am cause sihui was awakened by her hp's call from her mother. sihui flung open the curtains and the light was quite blinding. we ate cup noodles, finished up the cake. SO SWEET. checked out of the hotel and daddy sent us girls home. whee. so tired. tried to do my amaths. so tough. i can't really get the differentiation of those trigonometrical functions. fell asleep and woke up at 7pm. currently, in front of the computer waiting for my dinner. HUNGRY.

tomorrow will be a good day. why? because Christ has risen from the dead. yesterday was good friday and tomorrow would be easter. whee! praise God for he is good!

le day

seriously tired and burnt from being whole day in the sun and only with 3 hours of sleep and the sprinting, running, dashing, bending... i will just type what comes to mind..

today was simply tiring. it's our cross country 2. sec4s and 5s had interclass. the sec1s, 2s and 3s had sandcastle building competition, cycling competition and running competition. being a councillor, i was involved in the interclass. because us, councillors, had to reach east coast at like 5.30am, the dearest council teachers booked two chalets side by side for us to stay in. wonderful! one for the guys and the other for the guys.

interclass. refereeing is NO EASY JOB. the team will like you if you let them win but curse swear and hate you if you make them lose. this is what happened to us councillors. we had to go through their hurting remarks and piercing criticism. though it was like just said in a spur of anger but at least they should have spared a thought for us. some of us councillors seriously had it BAD. don't they know what does a referee do? think they can ARGUE with referees? don't they know what will happen to them? i won't say much as it may cause more rife.

anyway, well done 4d! 3rd is still good. no thanks to those who didn't turn up except for those in syf drama. you people could at least help us get more wins.

semakau trip

i think the whole class had a pretty good time on this enrichment excursion trip. the whole class had been wondering when would it be our turn to go. we were to go to semakau with 4c but we'll be pretty much be with our own class.

semakau is this offshore island in singapore that is at the southern side. it's considered to be beside pulau hantu and pulau bukom. you'll have to take this ferry to reach the island and haha, all of us were taking photos non-stop, especially eunice. she kept wanting me to take emo photos of her. haha. i remember scuba diving at pulau hantu and kinda freaked out underwater when i saw this huge crab on the rock. the instructor keep on pulling me towards the crab till i was face to face with it. anyway, it's one of the last resorts that singapore has left to ensure that all our rubbish is left there. it costs like $610million to build and it's for our rubbish. they are already onto cell 5 and there are like 6 more cells to go i think and this island is supposed to last to keep ALL our rubbish till 2040. after which, they may turn it into a golf course for the RICH. do you know that there's like a reception hall for rubbish?! haha.

we first attended this presentation at the meeting room. sat on those LUXURIOUS meeting chairs at a really proper MEETING TABLE. i estimated the total cost of the chairs and the HUGE table to be like $9000 plus. i know that really good chairs and a table can cost till $33000. some people did not appreciate the talk and fell asleep. i find it highly interesting about the facts AND the funny way the person talked. haha. he meant dollars and cents but instead it was pronounced lollars and sense. i laughed my head off. then, shawn ching kept on irritating the presenter, asking him nonsensical questions that were quite funny to me but irritating to others.

next was a tour around the island. we squeezed into this small bus and went for the tour. there was this tour guide called mr yewand the bus driver was also mr yew. -_-" anyway, we stopped at this really scenic spot to take photos. everybody is a cam-whore at heart. truly agree with me.

smelly

okay. this is a stupid incident which happened over the course of the this week and the week before.

rahul left a chicken to rot inside the redcross room for like 1 week and 1 day. he was told to go clean the meshtin with the chicken inside but he said he'll do it later. he procrastinated. he just left it inside the redcross room. 1 week later, we came back, we smelled some smelly smell in the room but ignored it after awhile. i thought it was the tents that made the smell. the next day, the smell got worse. the chicken had actually rotted till ******. it stank the room and there were maggots! the houseflies had actually bred inside the rotting chicken! there were housefly eggs surrounding the meshtin. and one week and one day later, the maggots had actually hatched out from their eggs! maggots! EWW. there were four maggots. both hengguang and i killed three outside the redcross room and then i had to leave after that. i was then told that fion MADE rahul to go clean everything up. oh, and they found the last maggot. now, the room is CLEAN and FRAGRANT. i now know how does rotting things smell.

someone please help me. cure me of my infatuation of wu zun from that hanakimi show! STILL, i do not think my infatuation is as bad as the others who buy every magazine that has his face. haha. sarah seewtow got caught by miss zeng as she had kept on looking at xiuyi from that hanakimi show too. she wasn't paying attention during chinese lesson and miss zeng had been looking at her. poor sarah. she got her xiuyi stickers confiscated. haha.

sigh. i'm still contemplating on my bruise. it's super U-G-L-Y. it's healing, i hope.

physics tuition just ended. i must say, he's a pretty good teacher. haha. shawn ching and jeremy tan really had their cat in the bag. i think his name is mr tan. though he's quite weird, he's good. i know he's a smoker but i think he tries his best to let his students to be unaware of the smell. the funny thing is that, whatever shawn n jeremy told me about the teacher, is true. this teacher is really, a very interesting subject to talk about.

ltc 2007

so, though it was optional for us NCOs to go for the sec3s Leadership Training Camp 2007, i WANTED to go. they were going to do kayaking and i cannot resist an opportunity like that to do sea sports. the sec4s which went were me, huiling, fion, atiqah, rahul, irysad and supposedly hengguang but he left on the 2nd day as his grandmother passed away. i only went for camp on the 2nd day. the instructors who went for the camp were leonard-sir, chanel ma'am and jonathan-sir.

it is so great to be a senior. when i arrived for camp, they were finishing breakfast. haha. confiscated desiree's softtoy monkey and pillow. i don't understand why cadets have to bring stuff that is not included in their packing list. they are only asking for trouble. all those confiscated sweets. there was also a confiscated packet of dried cuttlefish. aiyo.

during the kayaking practicals, i was kind of bored. fion, desiree, aaron and i had already passed our 1 star kayaking course. as atiqah came late, i had to partner rahul. seriously i was fuming and VERY pissed off at him. he was simply too sissy. he is seriously NOT MAN. i was left to do everything myself. the t-ex rescue really pushed me to the edge. this move is done by two, but in my case, i had to do it all alone. he was like just holding, floating in the water. while i had to pull the boat, lift the boat, hug the boat...... the instructors, i think they pitied me. anyway, the sec3 cadets were seriously un-cooperative as well. whatever chester told them to do, they would take their own sweet time to gather and stuff like that. i could tell that he really got pissed. the t-ex rescue drained my energy. i so wanted to scold rahul, tell him off, vent my anger on him, but i just kept that to myself. i had to control my rage HARD. i think the instructors could see my anger. i was VERY PATIENT with rahul. rahul somehow caused a huge bruise on my sexy left thigh. it is black, it is blue and it's purple. but it only hurts when i touch it. rahul kinda pissed everyone off during this ltc. even with the instructors.

after dinner, there were some lessons for the sec3s. they kinda had to practice their lesson presentation skills. i could see that they were super tired. jeremy kept on falling asleep. oh. ronald too. those dreary eyes. seetoh, to me, was the best. wonder what was in his mind that kept him awake. anyway, the cadets then had to go under some punishment that was to ferry us seniors around in their stretchers. man. to think i trusted my life in their hands. seriously, their evacuation skills aren't that good yet.

when it was time to sleep, EVERYONE did not care about brushing their teeth or washing their face. it was just SLEEP. everyone was so bummed out. the moment my head touched my sleeping bag, it was dreamland for me.


woke up to the sound of many alarm clocks. seriously, everyone was so kiasu. as usual, the cadets got punished in the wee hours of the morning. haha. desiree's eyes could not open. sealed shut. poor girl. anyway, the kayaking expedition started and it was only 16km compared to the other 2 kayaking expeditions with council. we were to kayak to the causeway and back to SAFYC again. luckily my partner was atiqah. to me, she was like a god-send angel. i just could not partner rahul due to the events of the day before. there was this point of time when i was so tired that i just sang songs with atiqah. i didn't care whether were i went out of tune. i just had to let the tiredness out of my body. through redcross, i learnt how to be high whenever i'm tired. so automatically, when i'm tired, i'll go high. please don't mind me. the expedition was succesful and it made me wary about the pollution in singapore. do you know that the waters around the senoko power station was hot. it was like close to boiling! it was hot hot hot. and it smells.

i have finally seen a jellyfish! it gave both atiqah and i a big scare. we were glad that we didn't capsize. it was round, big, and translucent. it was about 1m in diameter, with tentacles so long that it's whole height could be about 3m plus! we then kayaked quickly off.

when the kayaking expedition ended, we had to raft up at the pontoon. i told atiqah i was going to pee first. she said okay. so i jumped into the water and peed. got out, climbed onto the pontoon and walked into our kayak. then atiqah jumped in to pee. climbed out and up and back into the kayak. jeffrey and irysad jumped in and peed at the same time. haha. bubbles bubbles.

whenever i bathe after handling anything with fibreglass, i would scrub myself really hard to rid myself of fibreglass. saltwater is good for wounds. anyway, on the bus back to school, EVERYONE slept. i slept so soundly. tired out from kayaking, little sleep, preparing the kayaks for the next expedition for the ncc land and ncc sea. all the lifevests, kayaks and paddles.

debrief, yayy. seetoh won the title of the best cadet and junrong won the title of most improved cadet. yayy. it was raining, super heavily. upon reaching home, watched hanakimi, bathed, and then read some books, lazed around and lay on my bed reading again. damn. i fell asleep and only woke up at like 8am the next day. my body felt so weak. i just had to cancel all my prior arrangements today. my body just had not recovered fully. i thought that i could take it, but i could not. so, i just spent the rest of my day today doing all my holiday homework. i am just so proud of myself.

today

for pe today, after 70 inclined pull-ups, the girls went to play badminton and basketball. played badminton with sophie till her shoe's sole ALMOST came up and we went everywhere finding her some rubberbands to bind up her shoe. so funny. i don't really like basketball. it all happened because of several incidents that happened to me in primary school.

i'm not from fairfield pri. so, in pri 4, i played my first basketball game. i shot the ball into the target but it hit the ring and bounced back to hit my glasses and it broke. about $100 went down the drain. at the end of pri4, i tried playing basketball again, the VERY SAME THING happened, and another $100 went down the drain. i told myself : NO MORE BASKETBALL FOR ME. there were a few more incidents that made me dislike basketball. EXAMPLE: basketballers wear sleeveless jerseys. and some of them, don't shave their armpits and they are usually tall. one day on the mrt, a group of basketballers came in and stank up the whole carriage. all of them held the hanging armrails to then show their smelly and dripping wet armpits. EWW. EWW. EWW.

i dislike durians ever since young as there was the time when i ate some durians and my breath stank for like 2 days?! even brushing my teeth and tongue didn't help. mouthwash did not help. therefore, i stopped eating durians at about 5 years of age and it's been 11 years since i last ate a durian. haha.

i prefer only SOME kinds of chocolates. i kinda dislike the milky taste in chocolates. THEREFORE, i only eat ferro roche, kitkat and swiss chocs. other than that, no other. mr glen tan doesn't eat chocs too. wonder why.

THERE LIKE TONS OF HOMEWORK given to us for the holidays. shoot. homework sucks. for redcross today, i volunteered to do first aid duty for the gb parade. haha. so funny. there was a rehearsal before the parade and an actual parade itself. MOST of the girls, including pri school gb girls, fell out of the contingent. and during the parade, only 3 fell out. celesty, atiqah, chandni and i had tons of funny times in the red cross room and doing the duty itself. haha. making fun of the three muskeeters and OGRE. haha. the rest of the unit went to do home visit. and omg, redcross enrolment cum promotion parade is ON MY BIRTHDAY. i was shocked. seriously.

i like to remember stuff, though i have short term memory loss.
1) ipoh trip: though humans are bigger and stronger than insects and bugs, they still irk us out and frighten us. i remember we girls were like screaming and hiding from those bugs. hilarious now that i think about it.
2) ipoh trip: on the bus journey back, i trashed the ncc boys in the game of taiti. haha.
3) obsabah: stupid leeches. it was only until 2am on the first night in the jungle when i realised that there were leeches sucking the blood on my back for like 5-6 hours?! i got a shock of my life, screamed and cried in fear. thank God that i had suck good and comforting friends like gina and cuifen.
4) esmm: extra strong mint mentos. i think we girls went out A LOT.
that's all that i can remember currently. they've really impacted ALOT in my life.

i feel that fairsians who are not from fairfield pri have ALOT more friends. for example, me. i have primary school friends whom my secondary school friends don't know. i think this is like a great advantage.

series of events

okay. here's my much waited post. been really busy. sec4 life is hectic. so many things to do in so little time. i really feel that my class, 4D, has really grown up and bonded together ALOT. ans so has every other class. ALSO, there are many couples which have sprung up, especially in the secondary4 level. i personally feel that maybe those ppl want a gf/bf, so as to spur them on for their olevels. unfortunately, it may not be the case. most ppl in relationships has seen a downturn in their studies. so couples, STUDY HARD.

every year, it's pretty much the same. except for this year, whereby i learnt alot more stuff like gambling. when with friends, we play with poker chips, or sweets. when with parents, we play with money, but return the money at the end of the game.
every day2 of cny, my family would travel with the same group and go visit the other ppl. we'll always share our fun laughter peace and joy.

miss elaine lim has been pressing us sec4s and 5s to really be prepared and study hard. she's always mentioning set your targets, set your targets. therefore, i'm aiming for 11points and i want to get into acjc. 11-4=7. should be just nice for either a arts or science course. i'm really promising myself to work hard! i have tuition every tuesday, wednesday, thursday and saturday. whee. tuition expenses of me, bro and sis have skyrocketed tops. anyway, chinese just need to go for 2 more months. i really gotta buckup.

footdrill

this is my footdrill reflection.

it is up to you to read it. it is BORING. no explicit text. it is 100% boring. if i can add those into my reflection, i would get suspended. it is not purely from my heart. i have to hide alot of things as this is a reflection to be handed up to the teachers.

Being the person as to plan the footdrill trainings, it got me hyped up for this footdrill competition. The preparation, to me, started quite late and maybe, that is one factor as to why the squad was not good enough to win the compeition. It was hard to persuade the experienced people to come join the squad again. For me, to be in the squad for the third time, was a very big thing.

For the first training, I could see the enthusiasm in everybody’s faces. Most of the squad was made up of first-timers and that could be the second factor as to why we were not good enough as we lack the team experience. It was possible due to the previous competition preparation that made the cadets lose their enthusiasm in footdrill. It could also be that losing last season’s footdrill competition was a setback to those cadets.

As time passed on during the December holidays, I was not able to attend most of them as I was away on holidays. I would really like to apologize to the squad for that. The first few trainings were basically meant to test the knowledge of drill commands of the squad and there were many mistakes being committed. But as the trainings passed, the standard of the squad increased.

There were many times as when the squad’s morale was very low. Especially when most of the squad mates weren’t there. Time was running out and there was never once when there was a whole squad drilling together. Everyone had different commitments. Much sacrifice had to be made but even I, wasn’t good enough to prioritize. I believe morale plays another great importance to the performance of footdrill. During the whole of the December trainings, I feel that the squad was very cheery and most of the times, too playful to even focus.

I believe most of the squad’s upbringing is due to the VIs, Leonard-sir and Chanel-ma’am. They have brought much knowledge to the squad. With their past experience, they managed to impart them to the squad. However, there were times when we NCOs felt that they had took a step too far. The VIs had pretty much taken control of everything at one time, that we NCOs, did not do much. We sort of saw that as an interference. Since we have taken over the unit, why do we still have so much support and help? Shouldn’t we be at least left to stand-alone and do something on ourselves. If we have a setback, then the VIs should then be there to give us advice but not take control of the whole situation. Anyway, I believe that what they have done is for the squad’s own good.

Putting that aside, when I returned for the training in January, I saw that the squad had a great improvement in their standard of drill but the others didn’t think so. It was because that seeing the squad every time, one would be monitoring so closely that the changes would not be big. This shows that at least the squad has put the effort to make an improvement.

During the footdrill camp, I believe that the squad really bonded together and that it is true that the training was not tough due to the bad weather. The footdrill camp was the only time where there was a full squad. I feel that the squad bonded greatly only through the games that we played. It was fun. The squad bonded little during hardships. There were little bickerings here and there. It was only through this camp that we then knew our confidence and fitness level. It was through this that we then knew our strengths and weaknesses and also, how much the teachers and VIs cared for us.

The friendly competition with TKSS was a good advantage. It gave us a view as to where we stood. It turned out that we were too high above ourselves. There were too many first-timers resulting in a nervous breakdown in some cadets. Also, I believe that the morale of the squad was not there as there was not a full squad. This has been a good experience. I believe for the next season for preparation for the footdrill competition, there should be another collaboration. A friendly competition should not be a setback to anyone, but a very good learning experience.

The day of the competition. I believe that the first-timers felt nervous. For me, I did not feel much as it was the third time for me. During the waiting time, Fion was motivating the whole team. Everyone was feeling relaxed up till a point that some could fall asleep. Much confidence was boosted in the cadets. During the uniform inspection, I believe that everyone in the squad did their best to show off their ‘7 protocols’. At the corner of my eye, I could see that some other competitors had fall out of their squad, as they could not take it. On the competition ground itself, I was confident of myself. I admit that I did a mistake. I could not really hear Irysad’s command clearly. I believe that everyone in the squad put in their best effort. During the competition, I could not really see how my squad mates were doing as I was executing the ‘7 protocols’. After the results were announced, disappointment was spread out clearly on everyone’s faces. The lesson learnt from Miss Tai and Miss Shamsiah’s pep talk had inspired me as to how to prepare the next squad. Afterwards, Fion, Huiling and I, really wanted the cadets to stay back to watch the 2nd round of competition to gain experience for the next season of preparation. We were quite disappointed in them, except for Ginyong who was the only one who stayed back. We were really proud for him.

My reflection has made me realized that I have not really prioritize my commitments and that was maybe the 3rd factor as to why we did not succeed. With all my factors plus all the other cadet’s factors and reasons, I hope that it would not occur for the next batch.

My passion for footdrill will never die out. After so many setbacks, I have still continued drilling. I wish to see more of the cadets following suit. I have always put my full 100% effort to constant remind myself of my mistakes. I push myself to the limits. Never have I at any point of time, fall out of the squad because I feel sick. Footdrill has played a great importance in my school life in Fairfield. This has been a new life-changing experience for me. With added on experience from this season’s compeition, I’m sure it would motivate me further in my studies.

preparations

friday
cross country. i am SO PROUD of myself. being in the 'b'division is tough, but i managed to get 12th position!! whee. i remember the time when daddy was sending both my brother and i to macritchie reservoir for cross country. i was VERY NERVOUS. anyway, when i got there, it was super dark. there were no lights. went to the area where my class gathered to get our WONDERFUL class tee. 4d's class tee is green in colour with our names on the back. went to the toilet to change quickly and gathered with the councillors to settle down the school.

awhile later, the 'b'division boys had started and miss fiona tan started to pray for the rest of the school. that's when it started to rain. then it was the 'b'division girls turn to begin our run. at the starting point, there was hardly any time for us to stretch. the girls representing our class, 4d, was me, gina, sarah, sophie, julia and elizabeth. boy were we all good. we all got into top 30. sarah was the best! she got 8th, gina got 11th, i got 12th, elizabeth got 14th, sophie got 26th and julia got 28th. there was one time in the race when all of us 4d girls were running together in a vertical line. we are good! i remember overtaking a lot of people in the forested area. i remember my tactics. run down slopes like a mad person and slow a little down when the path was straight and when i come to the steep slope entering the highway, i will speed up cause that's where everyone slows seriously down.

while we girls were running in the forested area, we didn't know that it was already raining so heavily till we got to the highway where we got drenched. throughout my race, my mind was in a constant positive attitude. i told myself to NOT GIVE UP and i'm running not for my own, but for the class as well. also, it's my last year and therefore, i had to make a deep imprint in my life and i did. for sec1 crosscountry, i didn't know my capabilities. i think my position was like 70-80 plus. but for sec2, it was 8th. for sec3, it was 13th and for sec4, 12th! whee. i'm so happy.

anyway, only the b'division managed to run for crosscountry. cause it was RAINING SERIOUSLY HEAVY and the school chartered buses to bring EVERYBODY back to school. i don't know what will happen to the c'division and the fun run. don't know what the school will do.

after cross country, i went out with the same grp of people. it was us 5 girls and 9 boys (i think). the grp was pretty indecisive about what to do with the rest of the afternoon. oh, and during lunch, sihui told jingming that he had those kind of eyes that could dian dao bie ren. then he tried it on me, which didn't work. haha. had lunch with them and then went shopping with mummy!

i don't know how people can stand shopping for many hours! after quite sometime, i really couldn't take it. i badly needed to sit. so my mother and i went to starbucks. i can't believe that they would charge $3.20 just for a cup of tea! it's so OVERPRICED. i will never buy that again. it was just plain english tea and for $3.20. OMG.

went back to shopping. i can't believe how easy it is to get a dress for an occasion and just not get a shirt and skirt. but my good friend told me that, you can only wear your dress the 2nd time after a long long time. while for a skirt, you can mix and match. the problem now is that i have to find accessories for the dresses. -_-"

i used to tell myself that i'll never wear a dress again. but it seems like i have broken that.

frustration

omg. i just like typed a long post twice and i have to retype it ALL OVER AGAIN!

so briefly,
1. jorel is like uber good in guitar. he can play the canon in d!!
2. i'm under ss. serious stress. let me go AWOL!
3. both gina and i are heading the project department in council, we hope to work well with the people working with us. jacon, jocelyn, julia, constance, eunice, ryan, deborah, jumana, xuening, simon magdalene, magdalene, abigail, cassandra and sueann.
4. caleb n i are the MCs for the student leader investiture. not prepared. our script, which i came up, has super many prolific words.
5. both allicia and i are doing assembly for the whole of this week. it's a heart thumping job. regulates your blood.

stuck

i'm seriously in delirium. i'm like a hamburger. the top bun would be schoolwork, the lettuce would be red cross, the tomatoes would be council, the meat patty would be ME and the last bottom bun would be pressure. and this hamburger would be squashed up, rolled up and stamped on. i really HATE people raising their voices at me, including adults. we shoudl be given the proper respect that we deserve. i don't and never shout at a teacher, why must the teacher scold us, and in a raised voice too? the current teenager minds are in the influence of defiance. if someone challenges us, all the more we should challenge that person back and make sure he/she loses at his/her own game.

moving on. i'm so GLAD/HAPPY/ELATED/JOYOUS with working with GINA :) in council, we're the project heads. and i'm really thankful for the people whom we'll we working with. jacon, jocelyn, constance, eunice, julia, ryan, deborah, xuening, jumana, abigail, cassandra, magdalene and sueann.

today was student leaders invesititure rehearsal. both caleb and i are the MCs for that event and we're not really that ready. i kinda prepared the whole script and i tried to like add as much prolific words as i can. and OMG, jorel is like SUPER DUPER UBER GOOD in playing that electric guitar of his. it's al polished and shiny. i think he really takes pride in it. anyway, he's the very detalied kind of person. and he can play CANON IN D with his electric guitar. do you realise how much that skill and talent it takes? yiling was gushing over the music...

for this week, i'll be doing assembly with allicia! she'll be singing the national anthem while i like do the rest. it's not my first time, but everytime i do it, it's like the first. it's scary facing the whole school BUT i bet that joy and joy, fion and caleb has practically gotten used to it.

footdrill camp

have i ever mentioned how big my love is for footdrill?
anyway, the passion for it is so great that i like correcting mistakes. i really am happy when i see my cadets executing correctly and disappointed when they don't. i think i'm a strict instructor.

this year's camp wasn't THAT INTENSIVE as we were drilling in the hall because of the rain. i think everyone's drills improved tons. i also learnt some stuff, real new stuff. footdrill drained my energy, and furthermore, i slept around 3.30pm and had to wake up at 6.45pm. freezing cold. NOT me. i was snugly warm in my sleeping bag. fion, irysad and hengguang slept in stretchers, huiling slept ON TOP of her sleeping bag, qihui ma'am, leonard sir, joanne and chanel ma'am slept in the cold floor. all of them woke up freezing. and all of us squeezed into the red cross room, sleeping.

footdrill is really the best. i think everyone had fun during the camp, especially playing all the childish games that i thought of. snake catching is really tiring and brain-teasing. haha. during the weekly redcross meeting before camp, red cross was playing snake catching in the pa1. man, did my ear suffer some serious damage. everyone was screaming and really having fun. i think many of them really enjoyed the day.

footdrill camp really drained out tons of people, during debrief it was really hilarious to see some dozing off. i had huiling to keep me awake. haha. i just can't stop thinking about it. after dissmisal, the cadets went home, irysad n hengguang played soccer with the volleyball, fion n huiling n amanda went home, atiqah went to bathe n then home, chanel ma'am and leonard sir went home together and while waiting for my dad to fetch me home i ACTUALLY did some chinese homework that zeng lao shi gave us. unbelievable.

upon reaching home around 4.30pm, i immediately fell alseep on my bed and only woke up at12.30am when my mom was scolding my brother. i was delirious. my body wasn't used to this. cooked myself some maggi mee and went asleep again.

woke up, watched tv, did homework and here i am now.
dear Lord, i'm really sorry for not going to church.

orientation'07

boy oh boy.

before orientation, preparation
i'm never into the logistics/adminstration thingy. it's just NOT MY THING. if you make me do it, i'll do it but not good enough. i'm the kind which ra ra people. i can scold people and then bring them up happy again. i'm the kind which does a lot of interaction. i'm not the backstage kind. i'm the upfront kind and i'll do a good job of it. so, i'm afraid i didn't really do my job being the logsitics head. oops sorry.

the class i took is IH obadiah. i'll really miss them. this is the last class i'll be taking before i leave fairfield.

i took 1I in 2005, 1G in 2006 and 1H this year 2007. why am i always doing this kind of classes? i really wanted to do a express class. i wanted to know the difference. guess that i won't ever be doing that already.

took the class with rachel gong, mark ho, hannah lee, debroah lim, clarence, suanfong, kueider and joseph. oh. the alumni were helped was marshall and ziyang.

orientation day one
i was okay with this day. it's like all orientation day ones. it's always the same thing. the sec1s wouldn't feel enthusiatic at all on this day. it was really funny to see all those first-timers handling the sec1s. they were impatient, frustrated, all those stuff. how comical. won't mention names. it was really hard learning those sec1 names. i could like only remember two? sigh. i got really pissed on this day. not because of the sec1 kids, but because of something else.

orientation day two
this day were really the dumps for the sec1s. they didn't had recess and had to go for some stupid talk. i really think that this talks are really not necessary for the first few days of school. even if they wanted a session like that, just one would do. on this day, i could see the immature sec1s. the sec1s which acted like they were still pri6. i could see the mature ones. not that they were loners but they knew that it was time to grow up and not be childish. there was this really weird kid in 1h called alexander aka alex. while everyone in the hall was learning the mass dance, he just started to bend and filp his body in weird ways that i don't wanna touch. so i got foowai to help me. man, where was marshall??

orientation day three, final
on this very day, i could see that almost everyone in my class had somesort become a little grown up and matured. almost all of them were enthusiatic in everthing. i was SUPER UBER HAPPY! then, i came to know this boy called alvin. boy was he cute and short. he reminded me of somebody. anyway, during their workshop, i came to know that alex was really this smart kid if you really get to know him. though 1h lost most of the games, they never despaired. just tired.

happy new year

ushering in year 2007 is the best thing that had ever happened to me.

new year's eve
woke up at 9.30am. crazy me. went to church for some admin stuff. after that, attended service in the century. the sermon was good. i think i was like an irritation to the people sitting around me because of my runny nose and irritating cough. i was like blowing my nose and coughing phlegm the whole time. i used up two packets of tissue in just two hours? crazy me. the sermon was like : life in church in the upcoming future. i was like making notes on how to make up a sermon. was thinking to myself, if i were to preach in the future, how am i going to do it? better draft up a template now. come to think of it, yesterday's sermon was much of a sermon. the pastor was just like talking about building up the church in the future.

highlight of the day! went to gerald's house of countdown. we, youthexplorers, about 30 of us i think, went to macs first for dinner, then around 8pm, we went to gerald's house. boy, he lived on the top floor. why do most people i know, like to live at the top floors? anyway, gerald keeps TWO dogs. narcotics dogs. they sniff out drugs. one's a beagle the other is some mixed breed. both are males. i really like both dogs. they don't bark at all. NOT AT ALL. both dogs are SUPER UBER heavy. i think triple is losing hair. ANYWAY, i played mahjong and taiti like the whole time i was there. don't really like bridge. over at gerald's house, we also sang songs and had a sharing session. gerald was the one who started sharing, then ian. my brother was supposed to share too, but aiyah it's just him. my bro can't share his personal experiences.
anyway, my brother learnt how to play mahjong. i think he's getting addicted on it (: mahjong just so totally rock. the low brothers are pretty good at it. it was only after a few rounds of mahjong before benlow actually won. SUDDENLY, we had to stop our game. gerald got news that there was bombing in thailand. we had to stop and pray for our dear friends in bangkok. it turned out that they weren't hurt and that they were only just two stations away from the bombing site.

10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1..HAPPY NEW YEAR!! everyone then went round shaking hands, wishing their well wishes. wah. shaun yen. you squeezed my hand extremely painfully. you're an idiot. anyway, we got back to playing mahjong till we had to leave. oh. jiansheng is like uber good in playing the guitar. i think both me n daniel pflug are like awed by him.

daddy sent both jiansheng n enyao home. boy were we squeezed like sardines in the car. off to dreamland at 11pm.

i love this day. daddy, mummy, me, nat n vanessa spent the whole day with uncle paul, kochi, james and wesley
morning.
i felt really sick and we're going pulau ubin for cycling. my body was aching. i think i felt like i had a fever. when we reached changi for breakfast, i had no appetite at all. i was so sick. when uncle paul, wesley n james arrived, they arrived on their bikes. they rode all the way from home!! POWER sia. i felt totally sick. mummy suggested to go take panadol so i had to like WALK ALL THE WAY TO THE CAR to get the PANADOL. i really felt better after that. panadol really works. oh. i saw REMY ONG at changi marketplace. the bowler!! remy ong looks so different as on tv. as soon as my brother heard that remy ong was like just where we were, he got up and tried to find him. around 9am, we boarded the bumpboat to get to pulau ubin.

it has been a REALLY LONG time since i last been to pulau ubin. the last time was like in sec1? or even pri6! we rented bikes and as usual, the bikes were screwed. why are the gears so hard to switch? haha. my mother doesn't know how to manuever those gears unlike me, daddy n nat. so whenever we came to those hills or slopes, she would get down from the bike and push. it took quite sometime to familiarize myself with the bike. ONCE I GOT USED TO IT, it was FREEHAND!! cycling without two hands! whooo! that adrenali rocks! my record is like 10seconds freehand riding. after having some coconuts at some beach, i told my mummy that i came to pulau ubin for some real exercise and really have some fun, not just cycling to enjoy the breeze. uncle paul kinda overheard and so, daddy, mummy and vanessa were one team and went somewhere else easier to cycle. while me, nat, wesley, james and uncle paul were one team and cycled some road tougher. did i say that i want some real excitement? OH BOY. DID I GET ONE.

uncle paul led us to some really bad terrain track. got scratched by branches, bumps here and there. bugs, mud, whatever dirty. then, there were this really big overhanging branches with leaves and all that. all of us but james went through. SUDDENLY, we're all crazy monkeys. RED ANTS!! those bloody red ants! going through that branches shook off tons of ants on us. those red ants bit really hard. it was painful. we were whacking each other. tons of screaming, jumping and yelling. it was like the moment i got through those branches, i felt something biting me, saw it was red ants, i THREW off my bike and went around screaming and hitting myself. now looking back, the scene must be seriously hilarious. LAUGH OUT LOUD. i really had a fun time cycling. had lunch in pulau ubin. cycled to the quarry and that's the end. it's back to the singapore shores.

we planned to meet at changi beach club for swimming. my mom and kochi went somewhere in the clubhouse to enjoy themselves. my brother, sister and i played around with the little kiddies while waiting for james n wesley to come join us. i think it was like more than an hour later before they came. haha. vanessa got bullied by wesley. TONS. they were playing with some coin. like fetch the coin once it's thrown into the pool and the first person to get it wins. after they were playing a few times, i decided to play in too. boy was wesley SO SURPRISED. the whole scene was underwater. i got to the coin first but he practically swerve my hand away from getting it, so i did it the same to him. i got it, but i snatched it away so i snatched it back and swam back to the surface. it's amazing that i actually managed to keep my breath underwater all this time. then when wesley surfaced, he was SHOCKED. haha. continued swimming till 6pm. oh. i was also trying to teach both james n wesley how to somesault into the water. man. they have no balls! haha. they were like super timid about not doing it. sigh.

anyway, showered, got dressed and went for dinner at the cafe. the portions were like super small! after dinner was bowling. i bet wesley was lying when he said that it was his 2nd time bowling his whole life. he's like UBER good. VERY good. he said it's newbie's luck. urgh. whatever. after two games, we went to check on daddy n uncle paul on their karoke. gosh. i don't really like karoke. that's why i don't go to kbox or whatever. it's not that my voice is not good, but i don't really like singing some stupid love song and look at the screen which has some stupid background going on.

anyway, i sat on this really comfy couch. wesley came to sit too. haha. and we're like talking so loudly over the noise. okay not noise. uncle paul n daddy n mummy n kochi were singing. it just doesn't sound pleasant to my ears. i think i was like screaming talking. anyway, james wanted to sing a song, so he got wesley to sing with him. man. i had to shut my ears! after some songs, we went home. could not stop thinking n smiling to myself about what had happened the whole day.

the best day of my life :)
